About the Event

We will join together just after the Summer Solstice and Strawberry Full Moon to weave together with the moon, sun, sacred plants, sacred dance, and dance therapy. We will be celebrating the suns energy in our own lives as did the ancients. Our dances will reconnect us into this ancient way of honoring the earth’s rhythms. As we are experiencing the warm, fuller power of the sun, we can express the outward joy in the fullness of life and the richness of our worldly blessings. We will seek not only guidance from the dances but from those who created these dances, the ancestors of the dances. The wisdom of the ancient ones are held within the dances. As we attentively dance and plug into this wisdom we reweave ourselves into the time honored web of life.

In our dance we will be sharing in traditional Balkan, Roma. Armenian, Near Eastern, and modern sacred circle dances aligning with the Summer solstice; Strawberry Full Moon energies. Our time together may also include elements of expressive dance and inspirational poetry.

Throughout all ages and cultures, traditional circle dances were used to honor the divine, to heal, to affirm connection to the earth and each other, to build community and celebrate rites of passages and life transitions. The danced patterns illuminate the web of these connections. It is where personal and universal healing can occur.

The dances are joyful, meditative, mournful, full of beauty, longing, life, and celebration!

(You are welcome to leave after the dance but I do ask if you are coming to the dance to be here no later than 4:30pm. There is a level of entering and creating sacred space, firming the container, a stepping into the liminal, and a deepening alignment amongst participants that becomes disrupted if you arrive once we have begun. Thank you!!!)

4-4:30 Grounding activities to prepare for the circle

4:30-6:30 Tea Ceremony and Circle Dance

6:30-8pm Sharing and Potluck

Please bring a journal to write in and  potluck food to nourish in. GF is preferred.

Sliding scale of $20-30 accordingly.

Potluck after the dance. Bring water bottles/ cold herbal tea available during the dance.

I invite you to wear a dress or skirt to feel the movement gather around you with the dance. The skirt becomes a part of you and an extension.

Traditionally a dress allowed women to open their womanhood to the earth to exchange with, gather and offer fertility life enhancing energy.
