The base of this body butter  is Wild Rose infused Olive Oil and Sunflower Oil. I used my new  techniques to extract more of the wild rose medicine learned by Kami Mcbride. The wild roses were lovingly foraged by me on the land here I live on. Rose is specific for excess heat and is a supremely cooling remedy. Topically it can aid in inflamed tissue like sunburns and mild burns. Rose is a well-known dermatological aid and is excellent in any and all skin care preparations. As an anti-septic and mild antibacterial, Rose makes a great first aid medicine for skin infections. Rose is for love as we all know and feel. It nurtures the physiological- spiritual-emotional heart. Useful for trauma, grief, depression, anxiety (especially heart-based), heartbreak. Moves stuck grief so it can be processed. Heart-opening, and well-known flower of love and devotion that balances heart-opening with protection (thorns). Excellent for boundary work. Then the Wild at Heart Rose oil was  blended with unrefined Shea, Mango and Cocoa Butters. The Cocoa stands out in it's earthy cocoa essence though the Shea and Mango lighten the density. With Cocoa overwhelming the delicate Wild Rose scent I added Rose Abosolute and Rosewood essential oils. This is where alchemy just goes "yum yea!" The musky rosewood and cocoa butter together create an earthy extravanganza yet the Wild Rose sweetness is the grounding base. Bliss!  Arrowroot powder  aids in absorbption and also gives it a lighter consistency. This is still body butter though so let's let it be that, thick and buttery,  perfect for right out of the bath and shower.  Alkanet gave it that peachy color and the beeswax helped form it all together. Thank you bees! With the handcrafted herbal oil as a base, I would call this a Healing Body Butter to distinguish it from the many body butters that are out there on the market. Anointing by allowing your skin to drink these all plant and nut based elements is one of the most healing rituals you can do for yourself on many levels. Touching yourself along the edges that makes you, You, is a way of affirming your being, your existence. Doing it with intention and love and with the elements of my body butter can deepen your sense of love and belonging on this sacred earth and as a loved being of Mother Earth. Your body is a conduit.
